Do not add cold liquids to a hot pan. Do not put hot glassware into dishwater. Do not place a hot dish directly onto counter tops. Instead, place on an oven mitt, pot holder, or towel. Do not move glassware from the freezer directly into the oven.

Add liquid prior to heating. Adding liquid later could result in thermal shock.

If you need to cover food while it cooks in the oven, use tinfoil.
