If you don’t have a world with cheats enabled, click Create New World, enter a world name, click More World Options. . . , click Allow Cheats: OFF, and click Create New World.

The capital “V” in “Village” is extremely important, as using a lower-case “v” will result in a broken command. In some recent version of Minecraft you may need use small “v” instead of capital “V”.

For example, you might see “Located Village at 123 (y) 456” here. The y-coordinate (altitude) is usually unknown, meaning that you’ll need to use trial-and-error to guess it.

For a player named “Waffles” in the above example, you’d enter teleport Waffles 123 [guess] 456. Names are case-sensitive. Try using a number between 70 and 80 for the y-coordinate. If you are running Minecraft 1. 12 or higher, you can use the selector @s instead of your username.

If you’re underground, dig up to get to the village. If you spawn inside of a wall in Survival mode, you’ll quickly suffocate; to prevent this, you can attempt to mine your way out.

If you already have cheats enabled in your world, skip ahead to the “Tap the ‘Chat’ icon” step.

For example, you might see something like “The nearest Village is at block -65, (y?), 342” here. -616 y 1032

For a player named “hippo” in the above example, you’d enter /tp hippo -65 [guess] 342. Names are case-sensitive. You will usually need to guess the y-coordinate, which determines the village’s altitude.

If you’re underground, dig up to get to the village. If you spawn inside of a wall in Survival mode, you’ll quickly suffocate; to prevent this, you can attempt to mine your way out.

The ChunkBase Village Finder is not 100 percent accurate, so you may find yourself near (but not in) a village. Search around the area for the village if you can’t find it immediately. Ignore the y-coordinate for now, since you’ll know whether you need to travel up or down once you reach the village’s x- and z-coordinate intersection.

You’ll need to leave at least one block open to avoid suffocating.

Be extremely careful while doing this if you’re playing survival mode on anything other than “peaceful” difficulty. It’s best not to investigate the torches until the following day due to mobs.
