There will be a full field for Cup competition and no entries will be eliminated in qualifying. Installation of the charter system this season guarantees 36 teams a place in each race. The other four starting berths go to open teams.

The change reduced the starting field by three from previous year’s 43-car fields. It also removed money for appearance, so every team without a charter attends a race on its own dime.

The Xfinity Series is off this weekend. Qualifying for the Truck Series Toyota Tundra 250 is at 4:30 p.m. ET Friday, The race is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET that night.

Here is the entry list for NASCAR’s Sprint Cup race at Kansas. Practice begins at 11:30 a.m. ET Friday (Kansas is on Central time). Qualifying is 6:45 p.m. ET Friday, and the GoBowling.com 400 begins about 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday. Defending champion is Jimmie Johnson.

Last year’s race was the SpongeBob SquarePants 400. Seriously.
