Almost reaching the century mark is an impressive feat, and St. John’s did it both through the air and on the ground. But the more impressive stats come on the defensive side of the ball, as St. John’s completely shut down St. Scholastica.

Let’s compare the two schools:

St. Scholastica used four different passers, combining to complete 5-of-18 for 59 yards, no TDs and one interception. St. John’s didn’t have any one player dominate the game, as there were 14 rushers used in the 98-0 rout.

St. John’s essentially just had a short field every time on offense, which is why the offensive production isn’t what you’d think. But this was certainly a defensive performance to remember.
